About the event
 

A special gala benefit to support the IUCN Crocodile Specialist Group's Tomistoma Task Force (TTF) and Tomistoma conservation will be held from 4:30 - 9:45 PM at the Miami Metro Zoo's magnificent Dr. Wilde's World Plaza.

This event includes a cocktail party and a Caribbean style dinner followed by a special guest appearance and media presentation by National Geographic's resident Herpetologist Dr. Brady Barr. The event features an appearance by Pip, a young captive born Tomistoma and a baby alligator encounter for the kids!

The event would be joyful for adults, kids, educators, reptile enthusiasts and conservationists in general. The event will include an auction with special items such as the general curator's "Behinds the scenes tour" of the Metro Zoo, a dinner and field trip with Dr. Brady Barr, a tour of the Everglades with Joe Wasilewski and a reptile program for your school! , crocodile books and goodies.

Meet representatives of the TTF and other members of the Crocodile Specialist Group and hear first hand about the CSG's international conservation programs.
Come out to the zoo, have fun, and support conservation efforts for one of the world's most endangered crocodilians!
 

Cost
 

Adult: $30 donation
Child under 12 years old: $20 donation

The price includes Caribbean dinner.
The price also includes one day admission to the zoo if you arrive before 4:00 PM.

Tickets can be purchased by contacting the Zoological Society of Florida at the Miami Metro Zoo (305) 255-5551 USA.

Tickets purchased online by February 16th will be mailed to purchasers in 3-5 days.
Tickets purchased online after February 16th must be picked up in the office of the Zoological Society of Florida at the entrance of the Miami Metro Zoo no later than 5:00 PM on the day of the event.

All proceeds will be used by the Tomistoma Task Force of the IUCN Crocodile Specialist Group for direct action to conserve the endangered Tomistoma, also known as the False Gharial and its peat swamp forest habitats in Malaysia and Indonesia.

The Tomistoma Task Force (TTF), within the IUCN SSC Crocodile Specialist Group, is a non-profit group aimed to conserve endangered Tomistoma (a rare species of crocodilian). Miami Metro Zoo supports TTF through financial support for research and conservation programs.
